Integrated Pest Management is the internationally recognised gold standard for pest control and it underpins every ASC programme. Rather than defaulting to pesticide application, IPM begins with a thorough site inspection to identify pest pressures, entry points, harborage areas and conducive conditions. From there, a structured cycle of monitoring, proofing, sanitation guidance and targeted treatment is implemented. Chemical intervention is used only when monitoring data justifies it and always at the lowest effective concentration. Every step is documented producing the audit trail that HACCP, BRCGS and FSSC 22000 inspectors require.

Cockroaches are among the most persistent pests in food, healthcare and hospitality environments and a single sighting during an audit can result in a critical finding. ASC's cockroach control programme begins with species identification, because German and American cockroaches require fundamentally different treatment approaches. German cockroaches respond best to gel bait placements at harborage points, while American species require barrier treatments and exterior proofing. We combine crack-and-crevice treatment with harborage elimination and proofing to break the breeding cycle and prevent reinfestation. Follow-up verification visits confirm treatment efficacy.

Rats and mice pose a severe contamination risk in food production, warehousing and any facility where product integrity matters. ASC's rodent management starts with a comprehensive site survey to map activity signs droppings, gnaw marks, runways and entry points before deploying a combination of tamper-resistant numbered bait stations, snap traps and live traps appropriate to the environment. All bait stations are recorded on a site map, inspected on every visit, and their contents logged for trend analysis. Entry-point proofing seals the routes rodents use to access your building, while population monitoring tracks whether the programme is achieving the required reductions. Activity trend reports are included in every service visit record.

Subterranean termites are responsible for significant structural damage across the Eastern Cape, and infestations can go undetected for years. ASC's termite programme begins with a thorough inspection for mud tubes, damaged timber, moisture ingress and conducive conditions such as wood-to-soil contact and poor drainage. Where infestations are confirmed, we apply soil barrier treatments using registered termiticides that create a long-lasting chemical barrier between the colony and your structure. Soil injection targets the termite pathways directly, while corrective structural proofing advice ensures moisture and access issues are addressed at the source. An annual monitoring programme maintains the chemical barrier over time.

Bed bugs are a significant reputational and operational risk for hotels, lodges, guest houses and residential properties. A single confirmed infestation, if not treated quickly and thoroughly, spreads rapidly through a property. ASC's bed bug protocol starts with a systematic inspection of mattresses, bed bases, furniture frames, skirting boards and all harbourage points documenting the extent and distribution of activity before any treatment commences. Residual insecticide treatment is applied to all affected surfaces, with a steam treatment option available for environments where chemical use must be minimised. Mattress and furniture encasement advice limits reinfestation risk, and a mandatory 14-day follow-up visit confirms treatment efficacy.

Flies are a direct contamination vector in food preparation areas, and their presence during a HACCP or BRCGS audit constitutes a major non-conformance. ASC supplies, installs and services Electric Fly Killer (EFK) units positioned in accordance with HACCP-aligned placement guidelines away from food preparation surfaces and positioned to intercept fly flight paths. UV tubes are replaced on schedule and catch counts logged to identify activity trends. For ant infestations, colony-level gel baiting is used rather than surface sprays, targeting the queen and disrupting the colony from within. Source reduction advice addresses the conditions attracting both flies and ants to your site.

ASC's disinfection service goes beyond surface cleaning it delivers verified pathogen elimination using hospital-grade registered disinfectants applied by trained technicians. Our primary method is ULV (Ultra Low Volume) cold fogging, which disperses micro-droplets of disinfectant into all areas of a space including surfaces, air and hard-to-reach areas that manual cleaning cannot reach. Manual surface and touchpoint disinfection is applied to high-contact surfaces, door handles, switches, countertops, equipment controls and sanitation facilities. Each application follows the manufacturer's prescribed dwell time to ensure complete kill-off of target pathogens. A certificate of disinfection is issued after every treatment, providing documentary evidence for healthcare governance, food safety programmes and facility management records.

For commercial and regulated facilities, monitoring and documentation are as important as the treatments themselves. ASC's monitoring programme installs numbered, mapped pest devices across your site bait stations, glue boards, EFK units and pheromone traps each recorded on a scaled site map that auditors can cross-reference during inspections. Every service visit generates a digital trend report showing device-by-device activity levels, catch counts and any corrective actions taken. When pest activity exceeds a pre-agreed threshold, a formal escalation is triggered increasing treatment frequency, adjusting the baiting strategy and issuing a corrective-action notice with resolution timeline. The result is a complete, audit-ready documentation pack aligned to HACCP, BRCGS Clause 4.13 and FSSC 22000 requirements.
