Why ASC at home

A commercial-grade standard, brought home

Most home pest control is a person with a sprayer. Ours is a registered operator working to the same protocol we use in HACCP certified food plants. That means correct species identification, the right registered product for the pest, careful placement, and honest aftercare, not a blanket fog and a handshake.

Registered and accountable

Our pest control operators are registered with the Department of Agriculture under Act 36 of 1947, and we are a member of the South African Pest Control Association (SAPCA member ASC797). You get a real company with real credentials, not a bakkie and a bucket.

Safe by design

We use only registered products, applied at the label rate. We favour targeted gels, tamper-resistant bait stations and crack-and-crevice work over broadcast spraying, keep children and pets out for the stated re-entry time, and never use illegal street pesticides.

Discreet and thorough

We arrive in a scheduled window, work efficiently and handle sensitive jobs like bed bugs and cockroaches quietly and professionally. Your details are never shared, and we leave your home the way we found it.

Household services

Every common household pest, handled properly

From a single callout to a scheduled prevention plan, we treat the full range of home pests found in the Eastern Cape and Gauteng. Each service starts with identification and inspection, so we treat the source, not just the sighting.

Rodent control Rats and mice. Tamper-resistant baiting, snap trapping, and proofing of the gaps and entry points that let them in.
Cockroach control German and other cockroaches. Gel baiting and crack-and-crevice work into the warm, damp harbourage where they breed.
Ant control Trailing household and Argentine ants. Colony-directed baits that are carried back to the nest, not repellent sprays that split it.
Bed bug treatment Discreet, thorough inspection and targeted treatment of beds, seams, skirtings and furniture, with follow-up to break the cycle.
Flea treatment Floor, skirting and pet-area treatment with a registered residual and growth regulator, after dealing with the animal host and its harbourage.
Fly & mosquito control Source reduction first, then targeted treatment and, where suitable, insect light traps and larval control for standing water.
Termite treatment Inspection and treatment for wood-destroying termites that threaten roof timbers, door frames and structural wood.
General household pests Silverfish, spiders, moths and the everyday nuisance pests. One team, one standard, for the whole home.

Homeowner prevention

Homeowner pest prevention tips

Good pest control starts before the callout. These are the practical steps that keep the common pests out of your home, straight from the protocols we use in food facilities, scaled for the house.

01

Seal the gaps

Mice enter through a 6 mm gap. Seal around pipes, cables and vents, fit door sweeps, and repair torn screens. Denying entry beats treating an infestation every time.

02

Keep bins clean and closed

Open or dirty bins breed flies and, if eggs are laid on waste, maggots. Use lidded bins, rinse recycling, and keep the bin area away from doors and windows.

03

Remove standing water

Mosquitoes breed in still water. Empty saucers, buckets and blocked gutters, refresh pet bowls, and keep drains and water features moving. No water, no larvae.

04

Store food properly

Move flour, cereal, rice and pet food into sealed containers. It stops ants and cockroaches feeding and starves any stored product insects that arrive in packaging.

05

Declutter for cockroaches

Cockroaches love cardboard, clutter and warm damp corners behind appliances. Clear cardboard, clean behind the fridge and stove, and dry out damp cupboards.

06

Know when to call a professional

Repeat sightings, droppings, bites, a musty odour or any bed bug or termite suspicion means it is time to call. Early, targeted treatment is cheaper and safer than a full infestation.

Safety First

Say no to illegal street pesticides

Unlabelled pesticides sold loose at street traders and some spaza shops, often decanted into cool drink bottles, are behind serious poisonings and child deaths in South Africa. They are illegal, unregistered and have no place in a home.

ASC uses only products registered under Act 36 of 1947, applied by registered operators at the correct rate and placement, with clear aftercare and re-entry guidance. That is the difference between controlling a pest and endangering your family.

Questions

Residential pest control FAQ

Are the chemicals used in my home safe for children and pets?

Yes. We use only products registered under Act 36 of 1947, applied by registered pest control operators at the label rate and placement. We favour targeted gels, baits in tamper-resistant stations and crack-and-crevice treatment over broadcast spraying, keep children and pets out of treated areas for the stated re-entry time, and leave clear aftercare instructions. Never use unlabelled street pesticides in a home, they are the real danger.

Do you service homes in both Gqeberha and Gauteng?

Yes. Our Eastern Cape team covers Gqeberha, Kariega and Despatch from our South End office, and our Gauteng team covers Johannesburg, Pretoria, Sandton, Randburg, Midrand, Centurion, Roodepoort, Soweto and Kempton Park from our Randburg office. The same registered, food-safety-grade standard applies to every home visit.

How discreet is a residential visit?

Very. We arrive in a scheduled window, work efficiently, place discreet tamper-resistant bait stations where needed and use targeted treatments rather than fogging a whole house where it is not warranted. Bed bug and cockroach jobs in particular are handled quietly and professionally, and your details are never shared.

Can you deal with bed bugs and termites, not just the common pests?

Yes. Bed bug treatment involves a thorough inspection of beds, seams, skirtings and furniture, targeted treatment and a follow-up to break the breeding cycle. For termites we inspect and treat wood-destroying species that threaten roof timbers, door frames and structural wood. Both are handled by registered operators using registered products.
