Commercial / Integrated Pest Management

Commercial pest control across South Africa, run by public health specialists.

Every commercial building is an ecosystem. Loading bays, kitchens, backrooms, drains, roof voids and racking each invite a different pest, and each carries its own public health, legal and reputational risk. ASC Pest Control designs and runs Integrated Pest Management programmes that keep your premises protected, your people safe and your compliance file audit ready every single day. Most of our commercial clients run this as contract pest control: one annual agreement covering scheduled visits, monitoring and audit-ready records.

Why It Is Necessary

Pests are a public health hazard before they are ever a nuisance.

Rodents, cockroaches, flies and birds do not respect the boundary between the outside world and your operation. They carry Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and other pathogens on their bodies and in their droppings, they gnaw cabling and cause fires, they spoil stock, and they undermine the trust your customers place in you. In a commercial setting a single infestation is rarely contained: it moves through shared walls, service voids and delivery vehicles, and it multiplies fast. Controlling it is not optional housekeeping. It is a duty you owe to the public, to your staff and to your brand.

Public health

Commercial pests are vectors for foodborne illness, respiratory triggers and zoonotic disease. Protecting people who eat, shop, work or are treated on your premises is the core of the job.

Legal duty

Regulation R638 of 2018, occupational health law and your certification standards all require premises to be kept free of pests and their harbourage, with documented control by competent operators.

Continuity of trade

Contaminated stock, chewed wiring, delisting by a retailer or a closure notice from an inspector all stop trade. Prevention is far cheaper than the loss.

Reputation

One photograph of a rodent in a dining room or a fly on a product line can travel further than any marketing you will ever pay for. Reputation is protected quietly, in advance.

Why A Public Health Specialist

We audit facilities for a living, so we do pest control the way it should be read.

ASC Pest Control is South Africa's only food safety specialist owned pest control company. Most contractors treat pest control as a spraying trade. We treat it as a branch of public health and food safety, because that is where we come from. Our parent group audits food factories, packhouses and kitchens against the world's toughest standards. That perspective changes everything: we look for the entry point, not just the pest, and we build the evidence trail an inspector expects before anyone asks for it.

Contract Pest Control

Contract pest control: one annual agreement, year-round protection.

A pest control contract replaces ad hoc callouts with a scheduled, documented programme that runs all year. Instead of phoning for help after an infestation, you get a fixed service calendar, mapped monitoring devices, defined response times and a compliance file that is always current. For any commercial premises that is audited, inspected or leased, contract pest control is the difference between proving control and hoping for the best.

What the contract includes

A site risk assessment, a numbered device map, scheduled service visits, monitoring and trend analysis, emergency callouts, an approved chemical register with safety data sheets, and one-click audit packs on My ASC Pest Hub.

Who needs one

Warehouses, food and beverage plants, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, hospitals, offices, schools and factories: any site with a landlord, an auditor, a health inspector or a certification body that expects documented, ongoing pest control.

Fixed cost, full accountability

A single annual fee you can budget for, service level commitments in writing, and a dedicated registered operator who learns your site. Multi-site and group agreements keep one standard across every branch.

Chemical Stewardship

We care for the impact of every product on people, product and the environment.

A pesticide is a tool of last resort, not first response. Our Integrated Pest Management approach starts by removing the food, water and harbourage that pests need, then proofs the building against entry, then monitors relentlessly. When a product is genuinely required, we choose the least-toxic option that will do the job, we target the application precisely, and we record every gram used. Every product we apply is registered under Act 36 of 1947, carries an L-number and a current safety data sheet, and is applied by a registered operator who understands the risk to staff, to your stock and to the surrounding environment.

Prevention first

Exclusion, proofing and sanitation advice come before any chemical. The best treatment is the one you never need.

Targeted application

Gels, baits and crack-and-crevice work in place of broad spraying. We put the active exactly where the pest is, and nowhere else.

Care for the environment

We consider non-target species, resistance management and waste. Empty containers and surplus product are handled responsibly.

My ASC Pest Hub

Your whole pest programme, live, in one portal.

Paper files go missing, get wet and never tell you what is trending. My ASC Pest Hub at hub.ascpestcontrol.co.za captures every service digitally the moment our operator completes it. You see exactly what we saw, when we saw it, and what we did about it. That is how a modern, diligent pest programme should work.

Live trend graphs

Catch counts by device and zone, plotted over time, so a rising trend is spotted and acted on long before it becomes an infestation.

One-click audit packs

Device map, chemical register, safety data sheets, service reports and corrective actions bundled into a complete, current file in seconds.

Digital service capture

Every visit, finding and recommendation logged on site, time-stamped and visible to your whole team wherever they are.

Questions

Commercial pest control FAQ

What is commercial pest control and how is it different from a once-off spray?

Commercial pest control is an ongoing, documented Integrated Pest Management programme built around your building, your processes and your regulatory obligations. It puts prevention and monitoring first and chemicals last, and it produces the records your auditors, landlords and health inspectors expect. A once-off spray treats a symptom on one day. A commercial programme manages the risk continuously and proves it.

Why should a public health specialist like ASC do our commercial pest control?

ASC Pest Control is owned by food safety auditors who assess facilities for a living. We understand pests as a public health and contamination hazard, not just a nuisance, and we design programmes around the evidence an inspector or certification body actually reads. We are SAPCA member ASC797, our operators are registered under Act 36 of 1947, and our team is trained in R638, HACCP, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SQF and advanced pest control.

How does the My ASC Pest Hub portal make compliance simpler?

My ASC Pest Hub at hub.ascpestcontrol.co.za captures every service digitally. You get live trend graphs by device and zone, a numbered device map, your approved chemical register and safety data sheets, and one-click audit packs. When an auditor, landlord or inspector asks for your pest records, you generate a complete, current file in seconds instead of hunting through paper.
