Rodents at dock levellers
Dock levellers and roller shutters never seal perfectly, and the gap under a raised leveller is a motorway for rats and mice. We proof the leveller pits, brush-seal the doors, and ring the external and internal perimeter with numbered, tamper resistant bait stations so rodents are intercepted before they reach stock.
Birds in high-bay racking
Feral pigeons enter through open doors and damaged cladding and roost on high-bay racking and roof steel, fouling product below with droppings. We proof entry points, then net, spike or wire the roosting ledges and beams, working safely at height without obstructing racking, fire suppression or lighting.
Stored product insects
Flour beetles, weevils, moths and mites arrive inside incoming goods and breed in spillage and long-dwell stock. We deploy pheromone monitors to detect and pinpoint them early, drive spillage control and stock rotation, and treat or fumigate only the affected pockets, so the wider store keeps trading.
Cold Stores & 3PL
Cold does not stop pests, and shared facilities multiply the risk.
Many operators assume a cold store is pest-proof because the temperature is hostile. It is not. Rodents nest in the warm plant rooms, insulated wall cavities and electrical risers, then forage into the chilled space. Warm dock and ambient areas around a cold store see heavy rodent and fly pressure. In a shared third party logistics facility the stakes rise further: a pest problem introduced by one client's consignment can contaminate the stock, and the reputation, of everyone under that roof.
